Allow User Created Templates which appear in the "My Content" under backgrounds
I realize that we can do the "duplicate" and such, but that is not handy at all. I want the ability to make templates which reside in the "My Content" part of the "background" tab on a song. I also would not mind the ability to REMOVE the templates included in the install from "MY CONTENT". It is not really "my content" if there is a bunch of stuff I do not want! :)
Thanks.
You can now create and set default templates per service item kind. Create templates from scratch by going to Media > Create Smart Media…, or customize an existing one by browsing media, selecting an item, then clicking Customize Smart Media in the detail pane. Set the default template for each service item kind in Settings > Default Media.

I believe that I'm wanting the same thing as these guys so I'm throwing my votes to this.
My main need right now is to be able to setup a "Custom Format" (as it's called in Planning Center Online) for the lyrics and formatting of a song. Then, be able to apply that format across multiple songs instead of having to click "Customize" then change my font, color, size, bold, drop shadow, and outer stroke.
For me, consistency is key. That's how I like to present lyrics. Thanks for the time spent looking into this for us!

I would love this feature. There are times that I may use the same background I used a couple of months ago and rather than having to recreate the formatting, it would be nice to just use a template that is self-created. It would also be nice if you open sourced the way in which these templates are created so that we could share via some community feature like creationswap.com
