Add "Fade-through-black" Transition
This would allow for a visual cue for the congregation that identical consecutive lyric "slides" (bridges, repeating choruses etc.) are intentionally being repeated, rather than wondering if someone's just fallen asleep at the wheel. Putting a "Blank" slide between repeats is a poor substitute and an unnecessary complication.

I can't believe that 5 years after my initial suggestion this is still not available in Proclaim, as this is among the most basic of transitions and could be used by everyone. Lance's "fade-through-blank" idea is even better.

A fade-through-black transition would be really helpful for me. I would like it for videos and other items as well. Currently, I add black slides in between various items. Sometimes I set them to auto-advance, but the timing can be tricky as it can cut off the fade transitions that I use unless the timing is perfect and tested.

I would like to propose that this be more of a fade-through-*blank* transition (rather than fade-through-*black*) so that the background stays up and the words fade out and back in to indicate those words are to be sung again.

I agree, 'Fade-through-black' should be added as a transition option.
I also made a related feature request to automatically use a different (secondary) transition type when switching between slides that are the same.
See that request here: https://proclaim.uservoice.com/forums/137112-general/suggestions/35861434-add-secondary-transition-for-transitions-between -

I click on the "Text/No Text" quick screen to turn off the text, then click again to turn back on.
