add a templates feature
Why has this been rejected twice?!?! This is a really important and necessary feature, Proclaim listen to the people!
Today, you can create your own Smart Media templates and save them as your default for that service item kind.
If you want to use the same presentation “template” every week, “File > Duplicate” or “File > Duplicate recent…” will get you really close. You can do this each week on the last week’s presentation or on a presentation you use as a “master.”

The importance of a template feature in my mind is not just that you setup a template presentation, but the ability to apply a template to an item. So at the moment there is little point for us to ever use the "Add Item" menu, because it always gives us the wrong template (that is, templates we don't use). So we always have to duplicate an item and then modify it. But this can lead to problems where people don't correctly edit the item and leave some of the old info, and it seems to defeat the point of having an "Add Item" button, unless people always want to use the standard templates.

or at least be able to lock certain slideshows to not be altered. Currently I have a slideshow named "Template". And when I go to open it, I instead right-click and select duplicate, then open and rename the duplicate to something like "date & service order". But someone can still accidentally change the "Template" named slideshow if they are not paying attention. If no template ability similar to MS Office, a locking ability for the current setup would be great!

I completely agree, I'd like to setup my service the way I like it and start from there every time.
