I would absolutely love a way to have a countdown timer with customizable text that displays in front of a set of slides that automatically transition to the next slide and then loop back around to the first. Here's my idea:
A. User creates a group of items/slides to which a layover can be applied
B. The overlay editor is similar to other text box editors and allows text effects and such, but also allows an 'auto-text' component of the timer (font size, color, effects would also apply to timer).
C. The group would either continue to loop until the end of the configured time, or, if in one of the constrained service components (pre-show, or warm-up) maybe the timer could be automatic (like they are currently).
